Two
weeks ago RyeZ made her debut at El Paso, E1 - a small intimate
basement showcase as welcoming and as chilled out as the venues
hosts Chrystal & Yvan of Raison D’Etre. Within seconds
of delivering the first few bars of her opening song (co-written
by accompanying Canadian guitarist Kevin Briggs) Ryez had
the audience immediately captivated. The performance was passionate,
vibrant. People subconsciously rocked to the rhythm accentuated
by both her guitarist and her quirkily gyrating body. It was
an aspiring night. Full of talent and ‘eastern’
promise. One which marked the beginning of something special,
hailing the simmering emergence of new talent...
